Description
As part of FPInnovations’ Digital Transformation team, the software developer actively participates in the design of solutions and applications required by the organization’s various research groups. These solutions make it possible, among other things, to model, monitor, and ultimately improve, different forestry or wood processing activities. We are looking for someone who will contribute both technically and to the development practices within the team in order to achieve the highest standards in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop high quality applications meeting the organization specifications. Collaborate with team members to design, implement, test and maintain applications while respecting the development standards in place;
• Help improve architecture and development practices;
• Provide high level technical support to our members and clients who use the technologies we have’ve developed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or professional degree in application development and at least one year of software development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills
Knowledge of:

• .Net, C# design, web development and ASP.NET
• Git, Gitflow workflow
• CI/CD processes (Pipelines, Yaml)
• MS SQL Server (relational modeling, development of stored procedures and optimization of SQL performance)
• Python language
• Cosmos DB
• Web frameworks (an asset)
• Continuous integration and unit testing under NUnit, xUnit
• AWS services (an asset)

Experience:

• Developing WPF graphical interfaces
• SharePoint
• web design (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap, Blazor)
• Mastery of the Visual Studio development tool (2019 and more or Code)
• Azure platform & services, Azure DevOps (Team Foundation Server)
• Agile development
• Strong ability to work in a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, in both English and French
