FPH Group Hiring for Industrial Production Painter / Back-Up Supervisor at London, ON Full Time

FPH Group is a manufacturer of highly engineered products, primarily supplying the defense industry. We look to provide Design Solutions to some of the more complex challenges our customers face.

FPH is expanding and growing our customer base and therefore are looking to add a permanent continental weekend shift. This role will be a back-up to the supervisor when they are on vacation or away and will work Fridays – Sundays 12 hour shifts.

We are looking for someone with experience leading others and that has either auto or industrial painting experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for management and control of production processes, function and personnel within the composite area when acting as supervisor

Apply various coatings using spray equipment over finished surfaces to both composite and metallic parts

DUTIES:

– hang and tag parts to be painted

– mix primer and paint as required

– clean parts before primer and/or topcoat application

-spray both primer and topcoat to finished surfaces

– maintain booth log of both parts and batches

– clean and maintain all equipment used

– Assign tasks to composite technicians

– Key and facility entry duties and responsibilities, including arming and disarming alarm

– Monitor production processes to ensure high efficiency and throughput while exceeding customer’s quality expectations

– Managing the disciplinary process of weekend shift employees and counselling as necessary as acting supervisor

– ensure all health and safety rules are followed

– ensure jobs are completed within required time schedule

– follow regulations and policies as outlined in company’s employee handbook

– follow requirements as required by controlled goods registration and other defense sector registrations (i.e. itar, etc.)

– other duties as required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

– Must be a Canadian Citizen

– minimum 1 year as an industrial production and/or autobody painter

-carc (chemical agent resistant coatings) painting experience is an asset

-high school diploma

-effective problem solving skills

-able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal

-ability to follow directions

-ability to keep work area and tools clean at all times

-ability to work both independently and as part of a team

-reliable and punctual

-ability and willingness to acquire new skills
