Job Summary

Fox Head Construction LLC, a builder of high end custom homes in the Puget Sound region, is seeking a detail oriented and committed full time Accounting Manager to join our office in Tumwater, Washington.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for maximizing the overall value of the company and maximizing cash flow by managing the company accounting system, including accounts payables, accounts receivables, payroll, and financial reporting.

This position reports directly to the CEO.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assess financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluations of financial data; and preparing special reports for CEO.
• Maintain accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Implement, maintain, and review monthly payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

• Reconcile company bank and credit card accounts.
• Prepare, complete, and submit all company tax payments to all local, state, and federal government tax agencies.
• Research and order products.

• Establish relationships and set up accounts with new vendors.
• Request a record of and maintain sub-contractors liability insurance documentation showing Fox Head Construction as additional insured.
• Track and schedule vehicles and tool repair for routine maintenance.
• Process change orders
• Maintain employee personnel files

• Run miscellaneous errands and other duties as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree OR three years of experience in a construction related environment, such as accounting or finance.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, payroll, state and federal quarterly and monthly tax reporting, and reconciling accounts.

• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
