  Who are we looking for?.. At Forward Ability Support we are looking for an attentive and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our expanding finance team.

  
  What will a day in the life of an Accounting Officer look like?

  As an accounting officer you will be providing timely, accurate and efficient processing of accounts receivable.

  
  You will complete key responsibilities such as:

  • Process and allocate all cash receipts (cheques, money orders, direct deposits, BPAY and credit card payments) to individual debtors accounts on a daily basis;
  • Prepare Bank reconciliations (AR side) on a timely basis (monthly at a minimum);
  • Process new membership application forms as and when received.
  • Ensure membership records are maintained and up to date.
  • Timely preparation and submission of government claims e.g. CAPS, PBS;
  • Import, issue, prepare and submit Claims on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis for Participants and Clients.
  • Attend to and resolve Customer account queries, clarifications and complaints.
  • Review debtors aged trial balance to identify overdue accounts and follow up overdue debtor balances ensuring customers are within their approved credit limits and debtors ageing is controlled.
  • Manage and action all emails received in Accounts Inbox and Customer Care queries relating
  • Despatch monthly customer statements and send invoices on request.
  • Review and complete Month End Tasks as required and assist as/if needed;
  • Assist in any other Finance and administration tasks as required;

  What will you need to join us?

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting
  • Understanding of month end process and profit and loss reports
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to analyse and problem solve
  • Strong Customer Focus with an ability to liaise with a diverse range of people
  • Experience in general Ledger reconciliations
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Numerate with attention to detail
  • Good computer skills including an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Three Covid-19 Vaccinations, other than candidates who have a medical exemption to the Covid-19 Vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing obtain one

  
  Desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience using Exact / SAP ERP Systems
  • Experience n Accounts Receivables
  • Experience with NDIS Accounts
