We’re looking for new talent to join us as we reinvent the future of energy. Across BC, we have a diverse team of more than 2,500 employees we can’t do without, yet we’re growing as fast as ever.
You may think we’re your standard utility that delivers natural gas and electricity, but we’re also into cool, innovative energy solutions. Think carbon capture, renewable energies and lower-carbon transportation for a start. We believe in creating a cleaner, healthier tomorrow.
If you like meaningful work, a dynamic environment and forward-thinking colleagues, build your career with us. You’ll get opportunities to grow, lead, solve, and create. So what are you waiting for? Let’s rethink energy together. Position Overview
Not only do your computer skills resemble something closer to wizardry, but you magically apply your prowess to streamline and enhance software. Our workforce of employees rely on multiple SAP services and processes every day, and you know how to implement solutions and resolve pertinent issues without losing focus on the people your efforts impact.
If you can’t help but think that this role was made for you, then we want you to become our next SAP Analyst. Joining our Information Systems (IS) department, you will provide support to all SAP related systems and processes leveraged by our Human Resources business unit.
This wouldn’t be your first time collaborating with your team members and other business units, and you’ve since become a master of balancing legal, regulatory, and business requirements as you plan process improvements. Your vision to see projects through from start to finish and to effectively engage partners every step of the way is what truly sets you apart.
We value putting our customers first, whether it’s by delivering safe and reliable energy to over one million British Columbians or, in your case, optimizing the tools that allow our business and FortisBC family to succeed. In this role, you will:
Configure SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) to meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements and participate in workflow improvement projects.
Analyze and assess business requests and determine options for implementation.
Conduct analytics, compile reports and recommend system or business process improvements. In year 1, you will:
Resolve time and payroll issues in a timely manner.
Work with business leaders to prioritize and implement system changes in accordance with our system change management process.
Become familiar with troubleshooting issues and resolve help desk incidents assigned to the team. In year 2, you will:
Expand the scope of support to more areas of HCM.
Recommend and implement solutions that leverage our existing technologies and considers IS strategy. What it takes:
Extensive working knowledge of SAP HCM, particularly Time Management and Payroll, and experience with integration between SAP modules and with other systems.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus at least 3-5 years relevant SAP HCM experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Excellent judgement and creative thinking skills in decision making situations.
A strong ability to redesign business processes and maintain system integrity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging partners, writing reports and presenting research conclusions. Additional Information
Experience in configuration and support of SAP HCM Payroll (including gross to net) and Time Management is an asset.
Occasional travel maybe required.
Occasional ‘outside-of-business-hours’ work may be required.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.
Safety is our number one priority, and to maintain the health and safety of our employees and broader communities, we have a number of COVID-19 safety measures in place. This includes a requirement for all new employees to provide proof of full vaccination, prior to their first day of work or the start of their employment. And of course, we will consider an accommodation for anyone who’s unable to be vaccinated due to a protected ground as defined by the Human Rights Code.
