Fortescue Future Industries Hiring for UK HUB: HR Manager at Glasgow Full Time

Fortescue Future Industries is in the process of developing a global portfolio of renewable energy and green hydrogen mega-projects. Our large scale, low-cost hydropower, geothermal, solar and wind assets will revolutionise the energy industry and support establishment of green energy and green product industries around the world.

Moving to the next stage of the development of this portfolio, FFI is now looking to engage some UK / Europe based experienced study and project professionals to undertake some of these worldwide opportunities. Representatives of FFI will be traveling to the UK / Europe in Q1 2022 to undertake interviews with candidates. These positions will be based in either a UK north west major metropolitan city or the Netherlands.

UK Hub: HR Manager

An exciting opportunity exists to join the FFI team as the Head of the People Team, UK. This position reports directly to the CEO, UK and is the key business partner to all the Leadership team.

You will be responsible for developing the people based function and the implementation of all supporting HR policies, processes and procedures from the ground up and using these to drive HR best practice throughout the projects. FFI is a fast-paced, dynamic and ever evolving environment.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Develop and implement an HR / ER framework to support the people operations and provide a platform for project delivery and execution
• Partnering with the Leadership and Projects teams and providing advice and guidance on strategic people matters
• Recruitment and retention of Project teams
• Provision of strong Employee Relations and IR business advice
• Work closely with site based personnel to drive employee related initiatives
• Workforce planning and development
• Managing and resolving disciplinary and employee relations cases
• Coaching and development of teams to ensure capability is created

Qualifications and skills required:

• Solid demonstrable knowledge across a broad spectrum of key HR and Employee Relations areas
• Strong understanding of current ER legislation
• Bachelor’s Degree required major in Human Resources or Business preferred
• Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
• Previous experience on large and complex projects in the resources / energy sector

Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
