Position Summary

Responsible for direct supervision of the Corporate Accounting function. Primary responsibilities include design of and compliance with corporate-wide accounting policies and development and maintenance of accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial consolidation and reporting (US GAAP standards) and tax activities. The Director of Corporate Accounting is deeply involved in all day-to-day accounting activities and works closely with the senior leadership of the Company.

Finance Experience, Skills, and Responsibilities

• Lead the overall efforts related to period-end close, financial consolidations and financial statement preparation and reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee administration of the functional aspects of the financial consolidations and reporting systems
• Work with CFO and Corporate Controller to manage the client aspects of the annual external audit and completion of multi-jurisdiction income tax returns
• Manage the intercompany transfer pricing model and identifies enhancement opportunities
• Maintain the overall internal control environment of the company and implement mitigation strategies as appropriate
• Lead the identification, assessment, and adoption of relevant new US GAAP pronouncements
• Build, document, and deploy scalable processes that ensure repeatable, high-quality execution
• Identify process improvement and/or automation opportunities and implement solutions that improve timeliness and accuracy of financial transactions
• Lead the business combination and accounting processes integration activities for new acquisitions
• Work closely with Finance leadership (VP of Financial Planning & Analysis and VP of Operations Finance) and staffs as well as the analysts at the company’s financial sponsor

Administrative Experience, Skills, and Responsibilities

• Ability to translate complex topics, policies, or rules in accounting and tax to constituencies within finance as well as non-financial staff
• Managing staff time and deliverables, adjusting when circumstances demand it
• Planning and guiding the execution of a calendar for complex deliverables (e.g., annual audit, multi-jurisdiction tax returns) with deliverables that cut across multiple internal functions and locations and external resources
• Setting expectations, communicating them clearly, and holding individuals accountable
• Multi-national experience with awareness of cross-border financial reporting and tax implications
• Experience managing local accounting staff and guiding plant accounting teams

Minimum Qualifications – Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• 7-10 years of experience in Accounting or Finance with at least 3 years managing a team in accounting or finance
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or MBA preferred
• A CPA is required for this role
• Background in manufacturing company required
• Experience in a private equity-owned company desirable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-change environment required
• Strong expertise in building complex MS Excel spreadsheets for modeling, analysis and reporting required
• Proficiency with Oracle Financial software preferred
• Ability to coach and develop a team in an environment with an evolving structure, processes, and IT tools required
• Strong written and verbal communications skills that can adjust to all levels of the organization from staff to management to Board of Directors; comfort level interacting with all levels one-on-one or in groups
• Ethical, trustworthy, history of appropriately managing confidential information
• Strong work ethic – takes ownership of deliverables and willing to work on the details
