The purpose of the Senior Finance Assistant role is to support the Finance team at Formative Content. We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented person with good communication skills.

Please note that this role is part-time, ideally working 5 days a week, 3.75 hours a day on average.

Outline of key duties and responsibilities

• Setting up new jobs – via a combination of Harvest (assigning hours budget), spreadsheets and Xero

• Dealing with queries from Clients and Client Service Team

• Processing supplier invoices – posting on to Xero

• Reconciliation of company bank accounts

• Processing staff expenses

Additional Support to Finance Manager

• Assistance with month end process

• Supporting preparation of payroll documents for submission to payroll provider

• Submission of pension contributions to the pension provider

• Acting as cover for Finance Manager when required

Qualifications/skills

• 5 years Finance experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workplace

• Knowledge of Xero Accounting system

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Exceptional organisation skills

• Ability to perform under pressure

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Ability to prioritise effectively; Keen attention to detail

• Excellent and accurate data entry skills

• Reliable and dependable

While we do eventually plan an optional return to our Beaconsfield newsroom for some Covid-secure in-office connection with team members, we see the future including a high level of remote working. We’re therefore happy for our new team member to be located anywhere within the UK, on the understanding that there will be times that visits to the office will be required – perhaps once or twice a month.
