Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’re passionate about building scalable great user experiences while maintaining software development best practices and designs in place. As part of the engineering team you will be responsible for working with the front end engineers and test engineers to integrate and deliver high quality backend services.

Our tech stack consists of:

• Front-end: React (CRA), Material-UI, javascript
• Testing: Jest, ESlint, Prettier and Storybook
• Backend: NodeJS, AWS deployed on ECS, RDS, API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito
• Devops: Bitbucket Pipelines, Terraform

This role s to the Director of Software Engineering at Clubessential Holdings.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Write well-designed, testable code
• Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
• Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures
• Document and maintain software functionality
• Assists in planning for deployments
• Comply with project plans and industry standards
• Ensure software is updated with latest features
• Participate in architecture designs and technology decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 5+ years of experience and a Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent years of experience
• Experience with NodeJS and web application development
• Experience designing and working with SQL and NO-Sql databases
• Work with onshore and offshore development teams to build functional products
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Agile experience (SCRUM preferred)
• Strong understanding of testing, building and deploying applications
• Clear understanding on separation of concerns when writing services
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest and Mocha
• Experience developing, deploying and maintaining npm packages
• Ability to work independently but continue to be part of an agile team.
• Clear understanding of the inner workings of how web applications work and all technologies used to build them
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
• Experience with CI/CD processes using bitbucket pipelines or other CI tools
• Knowledge of front end technologies such as React is a plus but not essential
• Experience card present payments integrations is a plus but not required
• Experience with terraform is a plus but not required
