Forestar Group Hiring for Sr. Analyst, Corp Finance-FG Job at Arlington, TX Full Time

Forestar Group Inc. is a residential lot development company with operations in 20 markets and 11 states, where it owns, directly or through joint ventures, interests in residential projects. Forestar is a majority-owned subsidiary of D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder by volume in the United States since 2002.

Forestar Group is currently looking for an Sr. Analyst, Corporate Finance in the Accounting Department. The Sr. Analyst will collaborate with the Director of Finance and Investor Relations in supporting corporate finance-related activities of Forestar Group, Inc. This role requires working closely with D.R. Horton, various internal departments, as well as external parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Build, manage and maintain detailed multi-year financial models to support key strategic decisions and overall company forecasting
• Synthesize detailed financial information and prepare executive-level analysis and presentations for senior management, lenders, and other third parties
• Assist in evaluating and executing debt & equity financings, capital structure and capital allocation decisions
• Maintain ownership of the underwriting model to include assessment and updates to the model as needed to meet the needs and goals of the organization
• Oversee the monthly rolling forecast and annual budget processes of the company’s lot development operations
• Oversee the development and maintenance of systems to support the forecast and annual budget processes
• Provide support to the Investor Relations function
• Analyze business performance to communicate results and impact business decisions
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and reports
• Support ongoing dialogue with banks and other external partners
• Build and maintain relationships with region and division teams
• Maintain extensive understanding of financial trends and general market patterns
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and trends
• Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from a four-year college or university
• 3-5 years of experience in banking or corporate finance
• Exceptional undergraduate track record from a top institution
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and overall accounting principles
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial statements, corporate finance theory and financial valuation
• Outstanding analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability
• Proven experience in analyzing, building, and maintaining financial models and reporting financial performance
• Superb organizational skills and exceptionally detailed-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and negotiate legal documentation, including credit agreements, bond indentures, term sheets and engagement letters
• Possess an in-depth understanding of the financial and capital markets
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Uses discretion when working with confidential information concerning the company, executive management, and employees
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via FOR applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email; advances understanding and ability to operate in Excel and PowerPoint
