Foresight is Canada’s cleantech ecosystem accelerator. Foresight supports the identification and validation of cleantech opportunities and the successful commercialization of solutions. We bring together industry, government, academia, investors, and innovators to address today’s most urgent climate issues and support a global transition to a green economy.

We are currently recruiting an intern interested in climate and cleantech initiatives. Our goal is to work with candidates in the fields of data research, data science or with science backgrounds and education. This six-week placement will participate as a member of our multidisciplinary team. The intern will directly contribute to the development and success of the organization by bringing critical research and analysis skills, leveraging a variety of technology tools and platforms, and supporting a culture of collaboration and innovation.

The intern will be supporting a critical project sitting at the intersection of new clean technologies, market opportunities, and entrepreneurial innovations in the power sector. As part of this role, the intern will be collecting and synthesizing information from a variety of sources, including technical databases and internet searches. The intern will analyze data about cleantech ventures in Canada to generate insights into Canada’s cleantech ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This internship is a broad-based opportunity that will include a diverse array of tasks depending on the needs of the organization and the individual assignment. These may include:

• Undertaking secondary research and collecting and organizing data to support clean technology ecosystem projects in the power sector.
• Analyzing Canadian capabilities, policies, and global market demand across the power sector within the cleantech ecosystem.
• Communicating as needed with innovative entrepreneurial ventures, industry, government, academia, and investors to clarify information.
• Coordinating and working with Foresight team members to deliver project processes, tasks, milestones, and outputs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and professional communication with team and stakeholders
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Work efficiently and independently with the support of the Foresight team and other students
• Carry responsibility without authority via robust and positive engagement messaging
• Interest in clean technology applications in the power sector

REQUIREMENTS

• A strong interest in sustainability or climate technology
• A degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science or Development, Data Science, Science, or Environmental Sciences is an asset
• Eligible to work in Canada

WE ARE OFFERING

• Job Type: Internship/Flexible/Remote
• Rate: $21/hour for a six-week period at up to 40 hours weekly
