JOB TITLE: Talent Acquisition Specialist

REPORTS TO: Talent Acquisition Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for successful acquisition of hourly and salaried talent into the organization, managing the full cycle recruiting process including, sourcing, attracting, interviewing and selection, in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position is highly visible, works as a liaison to all corporate departments.

• Managing the recruiting process and framework to be used by all recruiters/hiring manager(s).
• Working closely with hiring official to efficiently manage the recruitment and selection process for hourly and salaried employees.
• Candidate sourcing, researching, evaluating, interviewing and making recommendations to provide qualified individuals to fill vacant positions.
• Ensuring appropriate screening pre-hire activities have been completed and properly considered, including criminal background checks, assessments, credit reporting, etc., to further determine eligibility for hire.
• Ensuring a successful transition for individuals who are hired, from candidate status, to new-hire employee status through established onboarding procedures.
• Processing new hire paperwork, including preparing employment offer letters for review and approval of hiring official as well as other employment related new-hire forms and processes.
• Participating in intern program, including on-campus career days and recruiting as assigned.
• Administration of the applicant tracking system as a “super user.”
• Coordinating postings of all internal job announcements, including conducting screening activities, assisting in interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
• Storing all appropriate personnel and applicant documents into the electronic storage system ATS.
• Affirmative Action management as assigned, including record preparation and assisting with preparation of Plan development.
• Writing and placement of employment advertising in various media (internet sources, newspapers, trade journals, etc.) as needed.
• Provide backup administrative support for other talent acquisition members, in times of absences and during times of special projects.
• Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace.
• Timely and accurate completion of duties.
• Occasional travel for work, up to 33% of the time.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

The following are required competencies of the position that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

• Computer Skills: Ability to operate all information technology related business systems, programs and applications in a manner that achieves efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of information processing and reporting as it applies to this position. Must become proficient in applicant tracking system and on-line recruiting sources/systems.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Ability to understand application research related terminology and government regulations. Ability to effectively speak and present to employees and customers concerning technical issues.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations, and provide advice relating to the application of mathematics and chemistry to food processing. Ability to apply concepts of statistics.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Other Skills & Abilities: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines. The ability to drive a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid driver’s license.

• Physical Demands – Employee is continuously (more than 67 to 100%% of time) required to: use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, sit; to verbally communicate; and to hear. The employee is occasionally (up to 33% of the time) required to walk and stand. The employee must occasionally (up to 33% of the time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment – The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.
• Protective Equipment – This position may need personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the job being performed, such as hearing protection, food safety clothing and other.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study, knowledge related to the job and three to five years of job-related experience, preferably in a multi-location manufacturing environment.
