The Opportunity
Ford & Stanley Recruitment are working with the UK’s leading specialist in rail vehicle equipment maintenance and overhaul on the search for a Design Engineer to join their team based in Wiltshire. They have a long heritage in the rail industry based on decades of experience and have continuous improvement plans to embrace innovation in both products and business techniques. If you are looking to work for a small business where your ideas will be heard, this role could be for you. Following a recent acquisition by a global rail company, opportunities to grow, develop and learn new skills are the priority following a successful start to 2022.
The successful candidate will be a key member of the Engineering team, reporting to the Engineering Manager, they will be responsible for the design of component repair and overhaul standards. By engaging with customers to understand their real and perceived needs. The role will be 20% research and development, 40% Technical Sales, and 40% New Product Development. If you have strong Mechanical Engineering experience, understand CAD, and are able to communicate solutions to customers this role could be a perfect match.
