Job Description & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Drive implementation of labour rebalances on both day shift and afternoon shift (as required).
Identify and develop new labour efficiencies.
Conduct MODAPTS Time Studies on vehicle assembly operations.
Write effective Operator Instruction Sheets for vehicle assembly which adhere to ergonomic, safety and engineering standards.
Troubleshoot and problem solve workstation and manpower concerns.
Support and implement New Vehicle Launch changes.
Work directly with hourly personnel, engineering and all levels of company management.
Interface with Production supervision and Unifor union members to settle operational issues.
Conduct in depth Periodic Job Observations throughout Launch and Rebalance actions to ensure Operator Instruction Sheet accuracy and process adherence.
Support Plant cost reduction and quality improvement efforts.
Identify emerging issues and react quickly to resolve.
Education/ Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Experience conducting time studies in a manufacturing environment.
Possess basic computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook) and can document and communicate effectively.
Skilled at prompt, efficient problem solving and concern resolution.
Must have strong work ethic and persistence at driving issues to closure.
Ability to work with Production team, Engineering and Launch teams to implement changes.
Highly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously as well as with a team.
Communication skills are key, must give clear and accurate direction to all team members and management, speak confidently.
Must be able to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing needs and direction.
Thrives and enjoys working in a plant environment, and able to support both shifts if/when necessary.
Must exhibit Ford+ Behaviours
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
Experience with Vehicle Production
MODAPTS certification.
6-sigma green belt/black belt certified
