Description

You will be joining a small, focused development team that develops our business-critical point- of-sale software and associated suite of services. The team prides itself on working closely together, sharing knowledge, and providing innovative solutions to meet business needs.

This is a 6-month contract to help support the current engineering activities of the team.

What are the Required Technical Skills?

Strong knowledge of Java lang and Java Design Patterns (Essential)

Good knowledge of Javascript, HTML and XML

Good knowledge of MySQL

Good knowledge of Azure Devops, such as YAML Pipelines

Good knowledge of Maven, and Git

Good knowledge of the Windows PowerShell libraries

Some knowledge of Azure, such as Cosmos DB, Azure Functions and Azure Data Factory

Some knowledge of Sentry

Bonus: Knowledge of GWT, C#, .Net and Datadog, Azure Boards, Scrum and Agile

We welcome equivalent skills, for example, you may not be familiar with CosmosDB, but you will still be a perfect candidate if you know MongoDB or any other unstructured query language.

What will a typical day look like?

Work on varied and interesting project work – both on existing and new applications/services.

Deliver system improvements, small development changes, new features, and bug fixes.

Full development lifecycle including code, testing, documentation, and maintenance.

Delivering focused and being mindful of business needs and requirements.

Providing clean, tested, understandable, robust and uncomplicated code.

Day Rate

We’re offering a rate of up to £550 per day (Outside IR35) for the right person, which we assess based on your own experiences, technical skills and against the principles of our department and our ways of working.
