FoodMinds Hiring for Account Supervisor Full Time

FoodMinds, a division of Padilla, is seeking an Account Supervisor to be an integral part of our food and nutrition affairs team. In this role, you will:

• Lead and support strategic food and nutrition affairs programs for high-profile food and beverage clients in collaboration with other account and project team members
• Translate technical science and regulatory data and standards into actionable recommendations for clients and food policy stakeholders

Account Supervisors are responsible for planning, implementing and managing food and nutrition affairs programs, which includes serving as the day-to-day client manager for a variety of clients (3-4 client accounts total). In this role, you will conduct ongoing monitoring of the food and nutrition affairs landscape and provide expert counsel to clients on late-breaking policy developments and related business implications. This position is responsible for building and growing client relationships, proactively keeping projects/programming on track, taking an advanced role on teams, and consistently delivering superior results for clients (e.g., great attention to detail, high-level writing without errors, thinking ahead on projects).

Food and nutrition affairs are FoodMinds’ point of difference – a foundational knowledge of global and national food and nutrition policy, as well as the factors driving change in the food environment, is important for this role. This position requires expertise in the food and nutrition landscape, including topics such as food-based dietary guidelines, nutrition labeling, nutrition assistance programs, marketing restrictions, ultra-processed foods, ingredient safety policies, and more.

Candidates in Washington D.C. are preferred but we will also consider candidates in Boston, New York City and Chicago. This is not a remote role.

• Possess expertise across the global food and nutrition policy landscape to support strategic programs for food and beverage clients
• Translate technical science and regulatory data and standards into actionable recommendations for clients and food policy stakeholders
• Demonstrate advanced communication skills: science translation, effective storytelling, writing/editing, creative content development and active listening
• Work within and support multiple projects taking place simultaneously and delegate effectively to team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters degree in nutrition, public health, public policy or a related discipline; equivalent working experience will be considered
• 4-6 years of experience working in food and nutrition communications/strategy/agency/consulting
• Experience within a fast-paced communications agency setting preferred; in-house food and beverage industry experience also desirable
• Registered dietitian credential desired
• Understanding of and experience with key food and nutrition policy topics, including food-based dietary guidelines, nutrition labeling, nutrition assistance programs, marketing restrictions, ultra-processed foods, and ingredient safety policies
• Existing relationships with thought leaders and organizations in government, trade associations, food and beverage companies, nutrition science and the public health sector
• Client service mindset
• Strong project management and time management skills (planning, budgeting and ing, managing up and down)
• Strong work ethic and an acute eye for detail and quality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering oral presentations and developing sophisticated PowerPoint presentations
• Ability to comfortably function in a fast-paced working environment that requires juggling multiple projects and deadlines and collaborating across teams and functions
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and occasionally operate office equipment
• Ability to travel as needed (when safe)
