The Finance and Operations Officer role will be a key member of the operations team supporting the wider team. This is a vital support role to enable the organisation to gain financial sustainability and create real social change. Working pattern: part time: hybrid (1 -2 days a week in the office) and office working available. Our office is in London Brixton.
Job Purpose
This is an exciting role for a finance professional at the beginning or middle of their career. This is varied role that will develop many skill sets; the role will mainly focus on everyday financing and reporting however, there will be other opportunities to support or coordinate on the operations side. As we are a growing charity, this is a great opportunity to be a part of creating and improving organisational systems and structures, alongside the Head of Finance and Operations. As there is a great deal of cross-over between the work of the three departments, there are also opportunities to be involved in other areas of our work you are interested.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Finance and Operations Officer to work as part of our operations team in delivering high quality services to our staff, Trustees, funders and senior management team. You will be well organised and able to meet deadlines, with strong communication and numeracy skills. You will be practical and focused, with a can-do approach to tasks.
Your experience
Your experience does not need to come from the charity sector, but we are looking for someone who enjoys working in accounts, both processing and conducting analysis. Someone good with numbers and can/wants to learn how to look beyond the figures to incorporate finances into the bigger picture and organisational story. Someone that sees themselves as a finance business partner to the organisation.
A week in the job will look like: Processing invoices (10-20 at most), expenses, talking through spend against budgets with managers, analysing and querying operational spend with contractors e.g. IT support contractors, creating financial reports for SMT, supporting the Head of Finance with governance reviews e.g. interviewing Trustees.
