are looking to recruit a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator
The successful candidate needs to be qualified to Level 3 in Early Years and have some experience of supporting children with additional needs and disabilities.
It would be preferable for the candidate to also have specialist SEN training (such as a Level 3 Awards in SEN) and experience in referral and EHCP writing, although not essential as further training can be provided.
The individual would work as an Early Years Practitioner, with a focus on SEND. An All Year Round position 30 hours+ is preferable but Term Time Only working would be considered if preferred by the person who is right for the role, similarly hours will be contracted for the individual at a minimum of 30 hours per week but if more are desired then this will be discussed at interview with the option of full time working.
The successful candidate would be required to manage the nursery caseloads, work co-operatively in partnership with parents and professionals to best meet the needs of the children. They would be respsonsible for early identification and intervention with appropriate SEND strategies to meet the needs of the children and promote positive outcomes. The successful candidate would also be responsible for information sharing with the wider staff team and modelling and coaching of SEN strategies in practice, to promote and develop ‘a whole setting approach’ to SEND.
The successful candidate would be supported by the company SEND Lead and would attend supportive SENCO network training internal meetings, they will get a £500 bonus on their usual EYP salary per annum and have 5 hours dedicated SEND time per week.
