Senior Accountant

A fast-paced logistics company backed by a Houston based private equity firm is looking for an energetic, motivated, and analytical senior accountant. This position offers tremendous career growth as responsibilities broaden with company’s rapid organic and acquisition driven expansion. Position reports directly to the company’s CFO.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Supervises month end financial close, reconciles accounts, and assists in preparation of the monthly board deck.
• Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking through data mining and creation of business intelligence reports (Power Bi)
• Analyze financial data and assists in creating financial models for decision making
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
• Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
• Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
• Identify and drive process improvements through standardization and scalable workflows.
• Supports financial audits and due diligence in acquisitions. Assimilates acquisition into workflow.
• Assists in preparing budgets, uploading into financial software and reporting on budget to actual variances.
• Ensure compliance with taxing authorities
• Provide the primarily in house support as its key user for McLeod software (Transportation ERP and Analytics), imaging, and mobile communication technology.
• Assist and maintain EDI interfaces with customer and vendors.
• Monitor and maintain data feeds to Power Bi KPI dashboards.
• Monitor and manage in house users submission of external help desk support tickets.
• Maintain and enforce company’s IT data retention policies

Job Requirements.

• 4-year Degree in Accounting/Finance with minor in Information Technology (preferred) from a top tier college or university.
• At least 2 – 5 years of experience in a mid-size company or in a top 10 accounting firm.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to present and document high quality, detailed deliverables.
• Ability to focus on results to meet multiple deliverables and critical deadlines
• Project Management skills.
• Business Intelligence experience with knowledge of databases and data warehouse, SQL a plus
• Systematic thinker; ability to work at conceptual and detail levels.
• Capacity to grow in knowledge and experience with the organization.

Company offers a competitive salary and benefits. This position will be located at our offices at Auburndale Florida.
