Flowserve Corporation Hiring for Machinist at Leduc, AB Full Time

Responsibilities:
The conventional machinist will machine metal parts and components to repair pumps used in industrial settings, such as refineries and factories. Our shop is always in motion, with tight deadlines, challenging mechanical problems, and a customer-focused crew.

Machine pump parts to high tolerances utilizing all standard machines, including manual engine lathes and milling machines.

Meet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap

Verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and workmanship

Maintain a safe workplace by wearing PPE, following procedures, and completing training

Clean and maintain machines and tools, and keep an organized workspace

Work closely with other machinists to discuss and solve problems relating to repairs and equipment

Collaborate with inventory workers and engineers to status and discuss work-in-progress

Record accurate, timely data on computer-based systems or in manual logs

Apply understanding of the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the repair or manufacturing process

Apply good understanding of tooling design

Apply knowledge of shop equipment

Participate in continuous improvement team activities

Requirements:
5+ years of industrial machining experience operating manual engine lathes and mills. Experience with vertical turret lathes (VTL) and horizontal boring machines a plus. More experience highly desired.

Experience in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges

Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and drawings

Must have a personal set of mechanic tools and roll-around tool box

Must communicate clearly, understand instructions, and read instructions

Able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice

Have a basic computer aptitude to learn data entry systems, and to use Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable work ethic with a personal commitment to quality workmanship

Must have a customer-service mindset at all times

Standing for long times required, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Preferred Experience / Skills:
Preferred:
Able to travel to other local Flowserve sites or customer locations

Experience with industrial equipment installation and plant maintenance

Rigging experience
