The Finance department is currently recruiting a Qualified Financial Accountant.
As a top 200 law firm, we represent leading UK organisations including government agencies, public sector bodies and PLCs, providing pragmatic and solution-orientated advice, which is nationally recognised by both the legal and business community.
The successful candidate will be working within a busy Finance team and reporting to the Chief Finance Officer.
Salary: depending on experience.
Hours: 9.15 am to 5.30 pm

Role

Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Assist in the preparation of month-end management accounts.
• Posting journals / calculating provisions / ledger reconciliations / fixed assets

• Prepare monthly reports on department KPI’s.
• Review overheads and maintain a database of all key suppliers and costs.
• Assist with year-end Audit / SRA audit
• Setting up and authorising electronic payments
• Review monthly WIP to ensure any unrecoverable items are promptly cleared.
• Review aged debtor reports to ensure problem accounts are identified.
• Report on the daily and weekly cashflow
• Prepare the quarterly VAT return
• Prepare and analyse financial data
• Assist with ad hoc projects

Candidate

The candidate
You need to have the following essential, skills, knowledge and experience:

• An Accounting qualification – ACA / ACCA
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with an online banking system
• Be highly self-motivated and comfortable with regular deadlines.
• Able to multi-task and prioritise their workload.
• Experience in year-end audits and liaising with Audit teams.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
