In this role, you will report to the Financial Controller. This role looks after the financial accounting for the Flight Centre Travel Group Leisure Brand operations. This decentralised financial accounting role supports the Australian Leisure business and requires you to have a disciplined financial control mindset, diligent work ethic, be proactive in finding solutions, have strong customer and teamwork skills, time management skills and ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.

This is a senior financial accounting level role; great for someone looking to progress their career in a large ASX listed company, with an operational support focus.

This role has 7 direct reports who are responsible for the day-to-day accounting for our Leisure Brands, in addition being a direct point of contact for our offshore accounting support team.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

• Assist with half year and year end statutory audits
• Protect our business by monitoring and reviewing at risk items
• Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliations across the Leisure business
• Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
• Manage the month-end accounting processes for the Leisure business to assist in the GL close process
• Assist with special projects and the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives as they arise
• Manage, coach and lead a team of 7 direct reports in the day-to-day accounting processes for the Leisure business
• Timely and accurate preparation of monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reviews, including commentary and analysis
• Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes

Skills/Experience

• Strong manager/coaching/leadership skills
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar
• CA/CPA
• High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and pressure
• Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
• Teamwork skills
