Summary
This position is responsible for the purchasing of raw materials and as the main point of control for company inventory management to be able to produce finished goods on time and in good quality to the customers. The position works closely with various plants and departments to ensure that proper material is purchased working with R&D, Regulatory and Operations.
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Run MRP and generate POs, follow up from confirmation through delivery
- Identify appropriate inventory levels based on use and availability of each raw materials
- Actively participate on SMOG inventory management team
- Run daily shortage and work with scheduling on timing
- Closely monitor inventory levels, maintaining Safety Stock and Reorder Point at optimal levels
- Work with 3PL to effectively coordinator order arrivals
- Manage damaged, shorted, or rejected shipments (document issue, notify vendor, return, request replacement)
- Manage supplier contacts and relationships
- Work with accounts payable to research invoice vs. PO discrepancies
- Work with procurement coordinator on second sourcing needs
- Work with the plant on issues related to out of stock, inventory inaccuracies, QC rushes, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred in business administration, accounting, economics, or supply chain. Preferred 4-5 years’ experience in a supply chain role and/or food and beverage industry.
