Fitch Group finance team operates under a matrix management structure with regional and functional heads. There are four regions: US, Latin America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

The Role:

The principal requirements of this role, in the head office finance function of Fitch Ratings Group are as follows:

• to consolidate the Group’s accounts on a monthly basis adhering to the strict monthly close timetable, including liaison with the management accounting team and others in the Finance department as necessary

• to consolidate the Group’s accounts, reporting internally (including to parent undertakings) and externally including liaison with external auditors

• to prepare through to sign off the annual audited statutory accounts of the Group’s UK entities

• to monitor and advise the Group on the impact of relevant accounting and statute changes

• to assist as necessary in production of the annual consolidated budget working with the FP&A team

• to play a role in the development of the Group’s accounting systems

• ad hoc assignments (e.g. acquisition due diligence, board papers, review of controls and subsidiaries) support for the Head of Management Accounts and the EMEA / International Controller as required)

• Sox knowledge and experience of SOX compliance would be beneficial

• Review Balance Sheet for UK entities

• Responsible for completion of various statutory returns including ONS , FCA and ESMA

• Premises exposure or knowledge of IFRS 16

• Multi-currency exposure / experience

The Person:

Essential experience/qualities:

• fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or similar); this role would ideally suit a recently qualified Accountant looking for their first move out of the profession, or a Financial Accountant trained in commerce & industry, looking for a progressive Consolidations role

• detailed knowledge of International GAAP and US GAAP

• experience of consolidation, gained within an organisation with group overseas operations

• advanced Excel

• knowledge of SAP or similar accounting systems, including reporting packages

• well developed communication skills, verbal and written

• ability to work accurately on a stand-alone basis
