Director of Christian Education Coordinators

Jefferson First United Methodist Church is in need of

2-10 hour positions – Children Ministry Coordinator and Youth Ministry Coordinator

or 1-20 hour position – Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator

Looking for creative, energetic, enthusiastic person who enjoys children/youth and motivating others. Hours are flexible, including evenings and weekend. The schedule may vary at different times of the year.

Qualifications: A degree or background in a relevant field of study; understanding of the basics of Christian beliefs and practices; a desire to grow in faith; written and verbal skills to communicate with children, youth, and adults; teachable; a team player.

Expectations

• In coordination with the Pastor and congregation, to make disciples of Jesus Christ to transform the world
• To build relationships with children/youth and adults
• To recruit, train, organize, and motivate volunteers for children/youth ministries
• To communicate needs and events with the congregation, parents, and church leadership
• To try new things and experiment with different ways of doing ministry
• To order, create, or organize curriculum and supplies as needed
• To ensure the safety of all children/youth by adhering to Safe Sanctuary standards
• To be part of the planning and/or implementation of special events that provide opportunities for discipleship, fellowship, and mission (example: Back to Church Sunday)

Children Ministry Coordinator

Current job responsibilities include: Organizing weekly 30-minute Children’s Church for ages 3-4thgrade, organizing weekly K-4thWednesday after school 60-minute programming, organizing week-long Vacation Bible School each summer, sharing a brief children’s sermon each Sunday in worship.

Youth Ministry Coordinator

Current job responsibilities include: Weekly 60-minute Wednesday evening 5th-8thprogramming focused on service, worship, fellowship, and discipleship; bi-monthly 60-minute Wednesday evening 9th-12thprogramming focused on deeper discipleship and maturing faith; special trips, mission events, and encouraging of Christian camping as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $9,100.00 per year
