Structural Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious Design Engineer to join a UK-wide civil engineering organization in London. They provide design, construction and maintenance to all of the major sectors. You will be part of a specialist team who are responsible for carrying out detailed structural design and assistance to overall operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and check detailed technical designs (calculations, drawings, risk assessments, design certificates).
• Assist with the developing and maintaining processes, procedures and standards for technical design
• Ensure designs meet CDM, health & safety, environmental compliance
• Advise and develop value-engineered alternative solutions during design or construction phases
• Undertake a technical review of method statements for complex or unusual methods
• Assist with the developing and maintaining processes, procedures and standards for technical design.
• Liaise with clients and customers and assist in gaining approval of external suppliers.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Structural Engineer degree or equivalent with strong knowledge of structural principles.
• 2-4 years of experience within the structural engineering field with an established organisation.
• Chartered engineer or working towards.
• Experience carrying out structural and civil engineering calculations for design (permanent or temporary) and knowledgeable of policy and design standards.
• Basic CAD Software knowledge to be able to extract information from CAD files and able to draft basic Engineering details in a CAD Software.
• Independent in analysing structures and extracting information from design brief.
• Passionate about engineering.
• Full clean drivers licence.
