Now Hiring – Crop Production Team Member

First Class Produce is a cash crop and vegetable farm located just outside of Oungah, Ontario. We grow corn, soybeans, wheat, sugarbeets, peas and peppers in Kent County, Ontario. We run a multi- faceted agricultural operation ranging from row crops to processing and retail vegetables.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• operate farm equipment including tillage, nutrient application, sprayers, grain handling and drying, operating pepper harvester and loading peppers
• perform maintenance of equipment, including oil changes, changing wear parts, light welding and working on implements
• maintain clean working areas in the shop, farm yard and equipment
• follow farm safety and food safety guidelines and training
• accurately record maintenance and field activities bringing any concerns to management

Skills and Experience

• minimum 1 year agricultural experience
• willing to work long hours during planting and harvest seasons including weekends; outside of that we typically work 40-44 hrs per week
• demonstrate general agronomic management practices as well as willing to learn and ability to use new technology associated with modern equipment and record keeping
• basic knowledge of agricultural machinery
• abilty to work unsupervised (after training)
• good decision making abilities
• driven personality with a desire to succeed and a team player with a positive attitude

Requirements

• class G driver’s license (class AZ an asset)

This is a full time year round position.

Compensation will be based on experience and skills
