POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist, in conjunction with the HR Manager, will design, implement and evaluate sourcing, recruitment and marketing strategies. The HR Generalist will utilize research methods to gain knowledge and gather data regarding area demographics, recruitment pool, trends in healthcare that may impact FLH. Information gained through research, analysis and direct observation will be used in the design recruitment strategies. The HR Generalist serves as an ambassador for the health system through new hire support, employee relations and exit interview interactions and by attending local primary & secondary school career functions and other community functions. The HR Generalist collaborates with their department partners to identify opportunities for improvements in the environment, anticipating recruitment and retention needs and supporting the health system’s vision to “Be the best� This individual ensures all communication, documentation and compliance with approved employment practices are achieved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
• AAS Degree in Business or related field
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree with courses in human resources
LICENSE:
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred:
• PHR certification
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
• 2 years of Human Resources; experience including sourcing candidates, selection and employee relations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HR practices and procedures, NYS & Federal employment laws
Preferred:
• Prior HR Generalist experience
• Prior healthcare experience
• Knowledge of marketing strategies, including use of social media sites.
• Previous experience with HRIS and/or applicant tracking systems.

• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point
Preferred:
• Familiarity with JCAHO requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
