Overall Purpose of the Role :

To provide a comprehensive, efficient and effective service to managers and staff across the organisation which provides guidance, advice and practical support across the full range of
HR issues through a professional partnership model.
Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure a professional, high quality and proactive HR service is consistently provided.
2. Manage the work of the HR Advisors supporting and developing their skills and knowledge using coaching techniques and development reviews.
3. Advise, coach and provide professional support to line managers in line with College policy and best practice across the employee life cycle.
4. Provide guidance and support to staff on aspects of their employment supporting effective performance and development.
5. Manage the recruitment and selection process and participate as a member of appointment panels where appropriate.
6. Ensure timely progression of employment contracts and other documentation.
7. Manage and support complex casework liaising with the HR Managers and senior management as necessary.
8. Support HR Managers and senior management in the application of the absence and capability procedures including monitoring absence, phased returns to work, occupational health referrals, counselling etc.

9. Provide relevant and accurate statistical information and analysis to HR managers and managers.
10. Promote the health and welfare of staff.
11. Promote and support the achievement of the Equality and Diversity Action Plan and the work of the Equality and Diversity Strategy Group.
12. Develop and update policies and procedures in line with employment law and best practice.
13. Undertake project work as required by the HR managers across the full range of HR practice.
14. Maintain sound knowledge of employment law, current and future, as well as codes of practice.
15. Support and service HR Committees and Working Groups in liaison with the HR
Managers.
16. Provide cover for the other members of the team ensuring that there is a continuity of service to customers.
