Fidelity Investments Hiring for SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER at Westlake, TX Full Time

Job Description:

Fidelity is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Foundational Tools IT Team. You will work independently on full-stack development and implementation of data solutions and visualizations using standard methodologies for data integration, which includes cloud-based and traditional infrastructure technologies. As a member of this team, you will deliver data-centric solutions for use by our internal customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to mentor technical peers is encouraged. You will be responsible for working with Business Analysts, other Software Engineers, and Data Engineers when integrating large amounts of data to help tell stories, identify issues and opportunities, and drive decisions.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent

• Three or more years’ experience in a software development related role

• Experience developing front-end applications in Angular (TypeScript, HTML/CSS, Bootstrap)

• An understanding of RESTful API-based web services (Java, Spring Boot)

• Familiarity with SQL, databases, and data modelling

• Data manipulation languages and frameworks (Java, Python, JSON)

• Proven experience with Cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure), a plus

• Familiarity with container technologies, such as docker

• Fundamentals of secure software design and implementation

• A keen interest in UI design and development

• Ability to lead and mentor junior-level developers

• Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner, building and maintaining effective relationships

• Comfortable as a self-starter – able to act independently under general direction

• Ability to work in an Agile team structure

The Team

The Foundational Tools team is looking for a software engineer who will help deliver analytics and data science solutions as our partners continue to use emerging models of data lake technologies to rapidly improve the efficiency and experience of working with Fidelity’s data.
