The Department
Fidelity’s Fixed Income Division is one of the world’s leading fixed income managers with over $1.5 trillion in fixed income assets managed by a staff of more than 200 investment professionals. At Fidelity, we combine fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to develop investment decisions that aim to maximize risk-adjusted total return for our clients. The Fixed Income Division is headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and has a team of more than 20 persons located in Fidelity’s London office.
The Position
Based in London, we are seeking a Research Associate for our Investment Grade Research Team covering non-financial companies in Europe. The Research Associate will be part of the fundamental research team, which includes analysts in London and the US, supporting Fidelity’s bond and money market fund investment process. The Associate will support the work of the Research Analysts to: (i) provide in-depth coverage of assigned companies and sectors; (ii) build and maintain financial models; (iii) draft and produce research material; (iv) maintain robust and accurate data; (v) communicate credit opinions; and (vi) generate investment ideas. The Associate will interact regularly with analysts, portfolio managers and traders, both in the UK and the US, across a variety of investment mandates. Our investment process is heavily team-based and the successful Associate will contribute regularly and effectively to group activities.
The Fixed Income Division’s Research Associate Program is designed to provide the participants with experience in fixed income research and investing, as well as in-depth training in particular sectors. Fidelity supports additional learning by Research Associates. Participation in this program may last up to 4 years and is mentorship based. After 4 years, the Associate is expected to either find another position internally, or externally, or pursue additional education.
