The Role
Fidelity Investments has an opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer (QA Consultant) role. You will be joining the Workplace Investing (WI) Data Engineering Quality Engineering team and will help with guiding your squad or squads in all things related to the quality of their code.
We are looking for an innovator with passion for teamwork and collaboration and has a creative development approach.
QA Consultants are typically assigned to multiple projects, ranging from moderate to high complexity, with responsibilities including technical mentoring and leading other team resources.
The role will also include hands-on participation in testing and automation activities, as necessary.
Job Responsibilities
Develop test strategies for test data, test coverage and automation solutions.
Participate in squad level sprint activities and supports delivery of test and automation.
Provides technical leadership and mentoring to quality engineers.
Promote WI Quality Engineering Best Practices, Standards and Processes.
Facilitate alignment to automation standards and support overall DevOps Integration.
Identify, communicate, and proactively lead project risks as well those of our supporting teams (as applicable).
Partner with development teams and promote understanding of quality engineering and its role in the project lifecycle.
Drive resolution of issues, metrics and status communication.
Identify resource gaps, training needs.
Support the overall team’s quality objectives and process improvement initiatives.

Test & Automation Tools : Jira, X-ray, Cucumber, Selenium
Programming Languages : Java, Python
API Tools : RestAssured, Postman, SOAPUI, RestAssured
DevOps Tools : Jenkins, Git repositories
Databases : Oracle, Snowflake, POSTGRES, SQL-SERVER
Monitoring Tools : Splunk logs, Datadog logs
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or mathematics
Senior level experience (8-10 years) in software development and test.
Experience testing APIs using RestAssured, and Karate.
Understanding and / or experience with DevOps / Pipelines.
Certifications in AWS or similar cloud platforms are a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills needed for agile team.
