Fidelity Personal Investing Architecture teams change and influence the future of Personal Investment (PI) applications and products in our next generation of experience platforms. We are a comprehensive central architecture practice, leading Information Technology (IT) strategy and architecture transformation, IT oversight and governance, promoting collaboration and open communication to facilitate better decision-making at all levels. The Purpose of Your Role
As a member of the architecture team, you will take part in developing a whole new integrated experience platform. You will work with architecture and application teams to help champion innovation, drive standardization, and deliver modern technology patterns across the stack for our internal and external customers’ use. You will contribute to the product roadmap evolution in conjunction with business unit product goals and provide leadership in computing services, adoption of platforms and consolidation across our team’s initiatives.
The Expertise You Have
An ideal candidate will have a solid computer science foundation, an effective combination of interpersonal and technical skills, and a passion for learning and expanding into other technologies. You have worked closely and built positive relationships with UX, product owners, QA, and customers building rich desktop and web applications.
The Skills You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering developing web and desktop applications
- Strong software development skills and experience using C#/MAUI/Xarmarin/Blazor /Razor/WPF/.Net
- Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Behavior Driven Development, and SOLID principles.
- Expertise with performance tuning & memory utilization of desktop applications
- Expertise in Unit testing & Automation Tools/Frameworks (MS Unit, NUnit, XUnit) with an eye towards mentoring in Test Driven Development.
- Experience with rapid prototyping from visual designs
- Experience in Client-Side technologies including WebAssembly, JavaScript, CSS3, Angular
- Experience building clients for GraphQL, RESTful, and/or web sockets endpoints
- Experience with sophisticated distributed systems, micro services and event-based architectures.
- Experience with Azure Devops repository/pipelines & tools
- Expert at one IDE of choice (Visual Studio, VS Code, Rider)
- Demonstrable experience in internet security: OAuth, Open ID Connect and knowledge of standard methodologies.
- API Design & Development, Microservice Architecture
- Strong experience or certification in Cloud Computing, with AWS or Azure preferred.
- DevOps, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery

- Evaluating and recommending technology and frameworks for flexibility, long-term viability, and time to market.
How Your Work Impacts the Organization You will be embedded in a squad and work directly with its members to prioritize and handle what needs to be done and in what sequence. You will coordinate closely with your squad leader and colleagues across the enterprise to stay aligned on business goals and make sure your squad is progressing and delivering against them. You will also occasionally represent the voice of the customer, whether internal or external, and make sure squad members understand their needs and preferences.
