The Role

As a Director/ Technical Lead, you will use your technical curiosities and domain expertise to orchestrate innovative Platform Engineering solutions. You have strong competency with Azure or AWS services and capabilities and the necessary cybersecurity methodologies, patterns, and practices in developing end-to-end cloud-based solutions.

You have a passion for delivering solutions in a client-obsessed environment that will give you opportunities to grow multi-dimensionally. You must be able to work across teams within the Healthcare Business Group and across other Fidelity Business and Enterprise Groups. You must have a Platform Mentality with an ability to understand and develop shared/reusable components and solutions using design patterns.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• BS degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field.
• Proven experience in designing and engineering enterprise distributed-based solutions using modern technologies.
• Confirmed experience in Cloud (Azure or AWS) Architecture, Design, Engineering, and Operation.
• Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
• Hands-on cloud development experience with a deep understanding of containers (i.e., docker, etc.) and orchestration (i.e., Kubernetes, AKS, EKS) tools.
• Your ability to work in a fast-paced, highly matrix environment to achieve group goals.
• Your ability and willingness to learn new things and adapt and adjust to changing conditions.
• Your skill for building modern, scalable/resilient architectures.
• Your experience in developing IT processes and procedures
• Your previous experience using business requirements to create technical designs and define architectural strategies and solutions.
• Your willingness to partner effectively with your technology business partners.
• Your commitment to sharing knowledge and providing guidance to less experienced developers in their work.
• Your experience in programming/development with a compiled/OOP-geared language like C#, Java, etc., and scripting/interpreted language experience like JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, etc.
• Your understanding/experience with the overall SDLC (i.e., developing, testing, deploying, debugging, continuous integration, continuous delivery, etc.) for distributed cloud applications.
• Your strong understanding of cloud infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end-to-end Cloud Infrastructure Architecture and Design.
• Your knowledge of well-architected framework implementation in Enterprises: Operation excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Your understanding of Microservices Architecture Pattern.
• Your experience in using managed-cloud-based services, technologies, and practices to build solutions.
• Your experience with web, event-driven, caching, batch architectures, designing systems for high throughput, low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance.
• Your experience operating/supporting/running production applications.
• Your experience Building and deploying large-scale/HA solutions.
