The Division of Education and Training provides educational programs, resources, and consultation to health care organizations and providers across the U.S. and globally, with the goal of optimizing quality, culturally responsive and cost-effective health care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and all sexual and gender minority (LGBTQIA+) people.
We are looking for a person with academic medical or public health curriculum expertise, academic technical writing and editing experience, and strong project management skills.
The Curriculum Specialist will be responsible for designing health professional education curricula using research from the medical field including academic journals and scientific literature
This is a grant-funded position for a limited time with the possibility of extension.
Representative Duties:
Manages curriculum development for all programs
Develops learning objectives, conceptualizes content, and designs programs and materials
Collaborates with program managers, faculty/subject matter experts, technical writers, graphic designers, and other partners to develop and deliver programs
Ensures that all curriculum-related goals and milestones are met
Incorporates principles of adult learning and instructional design into educational materials and programs
Complies with funders’ regulations
2. Ensures high quality of curricular materials
Implements processes to ensure consistency in tone, terminology, citation style, and design across all materials and programs
Pays close attention to detail to ensure high quality of deliverables
Organizes and maintains electronic storage of training materials
3. Supports evaluation of programs and materials
Collaborates with the Evaluation Manager and program managers to evaluate the process outcomes and effectiveness of curricular materials and programs
4. Meets Agency Participatory Expectations:
Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures
Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested
Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions
Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings
Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
5. Performs other related duties as required
. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and at least four years’ relevant experience in developing and managing curricula
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with colleagues, patients, clients and vendors across the spectrum of diversity, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, national origin and immigrant status, religious or spiritual identity, disability (physical, mental, emotional and developmental), veteran status, and/or limited English proficiency.
