Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reports to: Company President – Administration & CFO
Position Description
The person in this position will be responsible to assist the owners of Felco in managing cash flow. They will maintain the financial books with accuracy, consistency, and order with very few errors. They will manage the office, input payroll information, open and close work orders, input invoices, file and maintain records, initiate billing for customers, handle banking duties as necessary, and provide general support for operations performed at their location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
– Receive all payments and follow up on past dues.
– Verify that material and labor costs are correctly applied to jobs in QuickBooks.
– Send all customer invoices and conduct 15-day courtesy invoice follow up communication with customers.
– Daily bill and payment reporting as required.
– Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure IRS, 401k, insurance, and any other withholdings are made correctly.
– Receive invoices, process into QuickBooks, and pay bills.
– Create Job Cost Detail Reports for closed Main Item jobs.
– Create, maintain, and update active and terminated employee files.
– Develop administrative and accounting reports as requested by company leadership.
– Manage all office administration – supplies, phones, reception, and administrative support.
– Any other special projects as assigned by senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this position an employee will need to be a self-motivated and able to work independently.
The employee will need to have a thorough understanding of accounting systems, QuickBooks, payroll, and general administrative procedures. Their work will need to be virtually error-free, and they should be able to quickly correct any errors that occur.
Basic computer skills are essential for the employee to effectively perform their duties. They will need to be proficient in the use of computer software including but not limited to QuickBooks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other industry specific software.
This employee will need to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. They will need to be able to write well and pay attention to detail. They will need to coordinate and work well with others to accomplish their duties. They will answer the phone and direct calls as necessary.
The employee will need to work effectively in an office environment and handle multiple tasks at the same time. They will need to prioritize and schedule their activities to meet daily schedules. They need to communicate information effectively to avoid scheduling conflicts.
The employee will need to understand FELCO products, the industrial application in which they are used, and the potential benefits to end-users.
They will be trustworthy, highly ethical, and maintain a positive attitude toward the Company, other employees, and customers. The employee will need to manage and organize their workload while maintaining a high level of professionalism in the office.
This person will assist mechanics, machinists, technicians, engineers with office needs as required. They will continually participate in additional training related to the job and perform extra assignments in other areas and have related task assignments in the work area.
The employee will be agile and flexible to make sure they are meeting company objectives and goals.

Work Environment
The majority of this job is conducted in an office environment. However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to work near moving construction and shop equipment. Safety near operated equipment or in a shop environment is crucial. The employee must follow all safety procedures of the company and meet any customers site specific safety requirements. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to type, feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include ability to hear conversations during both personal conversations and phone calls.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university or Degree from a Technical Institute in a related field, or two years related job experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training, Certificates, Licenses
Valid State Driver’s License, MVR acceptable to company providing vehicle insurance, Passport/Birth Certificate
Protective Equipment
Safety glasses, steel toe boots, hard hat, safety orange vests and earplugs may be required in certain areas.

This position will be paid at a competitive salary, health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, and discretionary bonuses.
