Site Engineer

A major civil engineering and rail contractor are looking to appoint a freelance Site Engineer for their South West region to cover a project in Tiverton, Devon.

They’re recruiting for a live £4 million new road and infrastructure project comprising of section 278 works, drainage, hard landscaping and street furniture for a new development – to be constructed over 28 week programme.

The successful candidate will have a good technical background in order to hit the ground running and have experience of setting out drainage and manholes.

• Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
• Assist with quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
• Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
• Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client’s and business’s requirement
• Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
• Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
• Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
