Fawkes & Reece South Looking for Senior Quantity Surveyor at Somerset Full Time

A civil engineering and earthworks contractor are recruiting for a major highways project in Somerset for a project worth circa £170m. The business are currently delivering projects on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects like HS2 and the final aspects of the A14. The business now has a permanent set up in the South West with a steady work flow secured through highways frameworks and secured one-off civils projects.

They are looking for a Project Quantity Surveyor with experience of working major civils projects using NEC forms of contract. You will be site based when the project starts in August. The scope of works is the construction of 10km of new road construction, roundabout junction improvements, temporary access roads, new slip roads and tie-ing in the existing local roads.

Your duties include:

– Accurate monthly forecasting including maintaining a detailed cost plan

– Produce and send enquiries with relevant documentation to subcontractors

– Producing monthly reports and cost value reconciliation

– Manage any changes in a timely manner in accordance to the forms of contract

-Produce, submit, and agree monthly application with the client, in line with the form of contract

– Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are kept to the standard required

Ideally you will have experience working on large value highways or civils projects using NEC forms of contract.
