Fawkes & Reece South Looking for Senior Quantity Surveyor at Basingstoke, Hampshire Full Time

Fawkes & Reece South are working with a main contractor that are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of their busy commercial team. The team are working on a major civil engineering project worth well over £140m. The project will be to install a pipeline that runs from Hampshire to London on behalf of a large private client. They will be working collaboratively with various stakeholders on this project which is due to start in late 2021.

As a Senior Quantity your role will be to ensure that the commercial duties are being performed in line with NEC forms of contract and lead on the project from start to construction. Once the project is complete you will be considered for some of their other projects.

You will be involved in (but not limited to):

• Preparing the basis of the project procurement schedule
• Carrying out subcontract procurement in line with agreed timeline
• Managing the preparation of valuations, final accounts & claims in a timely manner
• Identifying, managing and reducing unnecessary costs and inefficiencies

• Assisting with preparing tender commercial reports
• Developing effective strategies for client negotiations

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

Degree in a Quantity Surveying subject or similar

Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor standalone projects worth over £5m

Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on NEC based projects

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive day rate and will be considered for other opportunities to work on other projects within the business once this project is complete.
