Our client is a well-established contractor keen on taking the next step in the civil engineering sector. The business is currently turning over circa £100m, who has now acquired offices in the Southwest. They are looking for a Project Manager with a good experience of working with civil engineering projects including 278 packages, road construction, and structural improvements. They currently have a live requirement for a Project Manager to lead a site team in phased works on circa £6m project. The candidate can join an established company looking to expand their civil engineering workload in the Southwest.
The project starts in August compromising of new road construction, infrastructure, an over-bridge, 278 access roads, new slip roads and tie-ing in the existing local roads. Ideally you will have a minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering and experience of working on highways or civils projects and would have worked your way up from an engineer to Project Manager.
Your duties include:
· Advising the site teams with solutions to engineering challenges
· Manage designs from in-house and external designers to update clients.
· Support project team with construction methodology/sequence and knowledge
· Collaborate with team on resource requirements
· Overseeing the training and mentoring junior members of the engineering team
· Managing RFI’s and TQ’s
· Completing project pre-planning processes, such as cost estimations and budgeting
· Establishing construction schedules
· Negotiating contracts and obtaining permits
· Managing on-site construction personnel
· Reviewing compliance with federal and local safety guidelines and standards
