Fawkes & Reece South Looking for Planner – Highways at Somerset Full Time

A civil engineering and highways contractor is expanding their planning division and looking for technical people with a desire to get into a planning focused role. The company deliver projects up to £10 million for National Highways, local authorities and private sector clients across the South West.

The role will suit an experienced Agent or Engineer who has been exposed to planning work on a short or medium term basis using MS Projects or ASTA. The role will be between different civils projects allowing you flexibility in the role to work remotely and manage your own diary for site visits and client meetings.

The Planner will have experience of working in a civil engineering environment with NEC contracts on highways, infrastructure schemes comprising of road widening, drainage, bridges or section 278 works.

Planner Duties include:

• Creating and amend programmes using MS Projects
• Identifying major restrictions and contract requirements
• Work with pre-construction and delivery team to agree construction methodology
• Developing overall programmes, issuing to all relevant parties and input recommendations and amendments
• Produce tender programme for additional works
• Work with the commercial team to identify and raise EWN and CE’s
• Throughout construction work closely with the operations team to ensure the programme is maintained, updated and in accordance with the planned works
• Liaising with all stakeholders to identify and manage risks
