Site Supervisor / Works Manager

Wigan, Manchester

Permanent position

£45,000 – £55,000 + Package

Complete civil engineering projects across a broad spectrum of applications utilising an integrated team of experienced and capable personnel, owned and controlled resources, and a supportive supply chain, to deliver cost effect construction solutions to Clients. From demolition or remediation, to roads, sewers, and groundworks or within the environmental sector.

As the Construction Manager you will be responsible for:

• To effectively manage construction sites with the aim of achieving profitable, prompt and faultless delivery with a non-adversarial contracting approach.
• Overall responsibility for leading the project team and communicating the business and objectives to all members of the team and ensuring Company procedures are followed.
• Liaison with the client and ensuring client satisfaction with a goal of repeat business
• Promoting the business in all areas and ensuring compliance to SHEQ procedures. Be instrumental in assisting to search out tender opportunities and converting them into contracts
• Ensure you capture all site records by using the DXI BIMS system and documents contained therein
• Set high personal safety & environmental standards and ensure Company procedures are robustily applied.

Leadership & Management

• Promote Company vision, values and the culture of continuous improvement.
• Set clear goals and objectives for each member of the site project team including personal development objectives and ensure open dialogue with each member of the team.
• Empower and encourage team members to reach considered and appropriate decisions.
• Lead by example, setting exceptional standards of safety, quality and customer service.
• Hold regular meetings with the site project team and sub-contractors at which safety, progress, programme, quality and site co-ordination are reviewed.

About you:

• Relevant qualifications and previous experience as a Construction Manager including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
• Full understanding of procurement including preparation of specifications and current Health & Safety legislation for general construction.
• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• Be able to prepare comprehensive technical reports.
• Experience working on industrial units
