FamilyAid Hiring for Career and Education Navigator Manager Job at Jamaica Plain, MA Full Time

FamilyAid Boston, the city’s largest human service agency solely focused on ending childhood and family homelessness, is seeking a dynamic, driven Career and Education Navigator to support the agency’s deepening services to more than 3,000 children and parents.

The Career and Education Navigator will develop partnerships and develop robust career and education pathways for FamilyAid Boston clients. Experienced, knowledgeable, and networked with career and education related services in Greater Boston, the Navigator is the key content expert for the agency’s case management and social work across all programs. The Navigator serves as a key liaison to partners in educational and career services organizations. S/he will work with the agency’s program leadership to maintain existing programmatic partnerships and build new ones that will increase access and enrollment in programs and services and ensure attainment of outcomes.

The Navigator will develop career and education pathways through job growth and advancement, continuing education, and occupational training in support of case management, for adult/young adult family members in FamilyAid Boston’s programs.

The successful candidate has a Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) and 5+ years professional experience in career development, education or other equivalent combination of education and work experience. Background working with individuals facing, or at risk of, homelessness is preferred. Strong career, training and education networks, familiarity working in a clinical setting. Strong commitment to helping low-income individuals find sustainable employment, build assets, and develop rewarding careers. High degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to build positive relationships with multilingual, multicultural participants. Knowledge of local communities, urban labor markets, career development principles, and the Massachusetts workforce development system, including education and training providers. Outstanding verbal and written communication and organizational skills, including excellent grammatical, editing, and proofreading, with ability to represent and market program activities and participants’ strengths with employers and in other forums. Experience with job search tools and Internet applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, preferably bilingual in English and Spanish. Experience in Homelessness Prevention and Diversion Programing.
