General Description
Job Summary: The Faith Christian School school teacher shall prayerfully assist in educating and enhancing the lives of students in order to prepare students to live for Christ.

Hired by: Principal with the approval of the School Board.

Responsible to: Principal

Supervises: Students, teacher aides (when applicable), and volunteers.

Evaluated: Bi-annual classroom evaluations conducted by the Principal or a member of the School Board. End of year evaluation conducted by the Principal.

Type of Position: This is a contracted exempt employee that is paid on a salaried basis.

• Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a postsecondary institution.
• Hold a qualified certification or be willing to participate in a program to complete the requirements for certification within a specified time period.
• Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy and a willingness to learn new technologies as required by the school administration.
• Demonstrate an ability to teach, manage, and command a classroom.
• Demonstrate an expertise working with the children in your assigned age group.

Additional Duties or Responsibilities
It is expected that the FCS school teacher will…

• Recognize the need for good public relations. Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school’s constituency and the general public.
• Participate in the school’s development programs and activities in areas of constituency relations, fund-raising, and student recruitment and retention. Ensure that provision is made for the accountability and securing of all funds collected in the classroom.
• Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned. Support the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible.
• Involve parents in prayer and volunteerism as appropriate. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom.
• Participate in the end-of-year school closing process, such as the inventorying of textbooks, furniture, and equipment.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the administration.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 – $40,000.00 per year
