Fairmount Technologies Hiring for Device Engineer Full Time

We are seeking a Device/Controls Engineer for development of complex electromechanical industrial manufacturing machines. Applicant must have recent experience in machine integration and commissioning. This person will maintain and improve existing machine controls, define and develop new machine controls, and assure the proper/timely commissioning of new machines. The successful candidate will be experienced in setting up drives, robots, machine vision, safety circuits, and HMIs.

Qualifications:

• Minimum is a 2 year degree in mechatronics, control systems, etc.
• Preferred is a 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
• Relevant certifications or experience

Experience with one or more of each of the following required:

• Circuit and PCB development, software/hardware control of electromechanical devices, motion control, Arduinos, robotics, PLCs
• Components such as: motors, drivers, encoders, contactors, breakers, VFDs, digital and analog I/O
• Programming languages: C#, Visual Basic and Structured Text programming
• Programming machine control systems- timing signals, machine kinematic modeling, post processing development

Experience with one or more of each of the following preferred:

• 2+ years working for a custom or OEM machine manufacturer
• 2+ years programming experience in structured text, TwinCAT 3 and C# (VisualStudio)
• Matlab/Simulink machine simulations, stability analysis, and control algorithm development
• Hardware/PCB development experience for high speed sensor data processing
