Job Description
Maintenance Person (seasonal)
Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Fairmont Waterfront’s facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for our guests. Join Fairmont Waterfront and take part in the sustainable travel revolution at our harbor-front, eco-conscious hotel, which is home to Vancouver’s first green roof and a honey bee apiary!
What you will be doing:
Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
Health & Safety conscious, actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment including inspection of all areas of the property for safety issues and taking immediate corrective action
Service and repair duties of guestrooms, public areas, and heart of house
Minor equipment repairs, HVAC servicing and filter changes
Caulking washrooms, bathrooms and repair and replacement of bathroom fixtures, and minor plumbing
Daily swimming pool test and chemical balancing when assigned
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property’s facilities and equipment
Assist guests regarding hotel equipment e.g. TV’s as needed
Active participation in our environmental program and sustainable operations
Daily system checks when assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Previous maintenance experience in areas such as painting, plumbing, tiling and carpentry, across a large commercial building or similar is preferred
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible and reliable, able to work safely with minimum supervision and be able to prioritize tasks
Excellent guest service skills with an eye for detail and mechanical aptitude needed
Team oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of the English language required
Class 4 ticket an asset
Additional Information
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
