Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Digital Product Strategy, and in conjunction with the Acquisitions Editor and Content Project Manager, this position drives development of content-centered e-learning solutions that meet educational needs and advance sales.

An E-learning Content Specialist is responsible for assessing content, market needs, and technology capabilities to design content-driven, intentional e-learning solutions that meet market and revenue expectations.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Three or more years working in a content-centric e-learning role, such as content or instructional designer
• Solid, independent track record of translating traditional content into the digital medium
• Experience with creating/developing content for interactive formats, including assessments
• Ability to drive wireframe discussion/creation based on content needs, market expectations, and functional requirements
• Independent, self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Effective communicator with experience working in cross-functional teams
• Flexible and creative approach to problem-solving
• Resourceful, decisive, and unflappable
• Attentive to detail
• Able to foresee and avert problems
• Experience with digital media, including audio and video, a plus
• Deep knowledge of publishing process and higher-ed educational markets (nursing market knowledge a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, Google Docs, and internet research

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional design support for digital products, including:
• Work with Acquisitions Editor to gather high-level requirements and develop budgets; work with product team to determine content scope and organization and assess functionality needs based on content
• Communicate with Design Vendor to convey high-level requirements and vision for the product
• Facilitate the wireframing process and assist in the creation of the functional requirements document
• Create content samples from existing print content or by working with subject matter expert (SME) Consult with product team to develop content outlines and templates Consult with stakeholders during content and technical development to ensure product will achieve learning/content goals
• Enhance applications by incorporating market and stakeholder feedback, considering content needs and learning goals, and leveraging other learning technology.
• Troubleshoot bugs/issues from a learning framework/content perspective

• Create content-driven user support materials as assigned
• Research new technology/possible vendor solutions from a content-needs perspective
• Other duties and projects as assigned by Manager

Education/Certifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Science, or other related field
