Test Automation Software Engineer
About the role

F3 Wireless is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our team. You’ll be tasked with the design and implementation of software and firmware solutions related to embedded device manufacturing and functional End-Of-Line testing. In collaboration with our electrical, mechanical as well as firmware engineers, you’ll flesh out test requirements and create test cases that ensure products requirements are met. This role is more than just writing software, as you will be working directly with the product hardware and test equipment such as programmable power supplies, RF power meters, data acquisition devices, cellular call boxes, and more.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve upon our test framework code, both firmware and software.

• Write reusable, and well organized code with in-line documentation

• Aid in creation of manufacturing test plans.

• Review and understand product test requirements.

• Define tasks for new projects and provide work estimates.

• Write operating instructions for test software.

• Take the lead on understanding and using new lab equipment and software tools.

Requirements

• Experience with Python, C/C++

• Proficiency with Linux systems, bash scripting

• Utilization of Eclipse, and PyCharm IDEs for development and debugging

• General understanding of embedded systems, electronics

• Knowledge of basic/intermediate Git revision control

• The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, quick learner with an interest in wireless technologies.

Travel

There is no expected travel associated with this role. Much work can be done remotely but you will need to come into the office to use the lab and interact with production testers on occasion.

Our typical working hours are 10am to 6pm but your exact hours can be very flexible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $74,660.00 per year
