Student Recruitment – Senior Advisor (Supervising Associate) – Operations

12 month FTC or secondment – UK wide

You will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class candidate experience through hiring exceptional students to meet challenging targets for your allocated Service Line(s). You will also act as a team lead for Student Recruitment Operations Advisors, with a focus on operational excellence and delivery. You will have a direct reporting line into the Student Recruitment Operations Manager. You will focus on strategically imperative priorities in the early careers landscape at EY.

The opportunity

You will work as part of a large Student Recruitment team with the support of a shared service function that recruits a substantial number of graduates, undergraduates and school leavers across the UK.

You will work very closely with the Student Recruitment Manager to create a strategy for a successful recruitment campaign, where your primary focus will be executing this strategy and engaging stakeholders as required. You will be required to assume team leadership responsibilities such as counselling and coaching as well as direct line management of Student Recruitment Advisors. You will also deputise for the Student Recruitment Manager during periods of annual leave.

In addition you will work to ensure that the Operations Advisors across the team are operating effectively. You will help to devise, embed and monitor processes, as well as ways of working across the team that will ensure a best in class Student Recruitment operation delivering an exceptional experience for the team, business and candidates.

Your key responsibilities

• Analysis and management of candidate flow to identify potential areas of concern and ensure KPI’s are being met or exceeded on an ongoing basis
• Working with Talent Shared Services to deliver an exceptional candidate experience whilst maintaining efficient turnaround times and monitoring of pipelines
• Support of final stage events, where your primary responsibility will be to ensure they run well from an operational and logistical perspective, ultimately driving fill rate, and supporting the objective to give candidates a differential experience at EY
• Plan and implement appropriate opening and close dates for your programmes and monitor application volumes
• Work closely with the Brand and Attraction team to ensure the volume and focus of candidates is suitable
• Responsibility for shortlisting candidates against set criteria in order to effectively fill final stage events
• Responsibility for the consistent application of Student Recruitment strategy and process across the team, as well as strategic involvement with shaping this strategy for each campaign
• Analysis and preparation of management information, presenting at meetings and feeding back to key stakeholders, as well as Senior Student Recruitment managers
• Working closely with the wider student recruitment and Brand and Attraction team to deliver post offer events and activities as required
• Responsibility for the delivery of the Early ID programmes within your portfolio, as well as looking strategically at effectiveness of the programmes and overseeing the implementation of these
• You will support and lead on projects that contribute to the overall success of the Student Recruitment strategy

Operations Advisor team delivery:

• Strategically prioritising and directing workload across the Advisor group and ensuring consistent ways of working are applied
• Monitoring key processes and controls to ensure that quality standards and protocols are being adhered to
• Identifying and implementing process improvements with a focus on quality, candidate experience, stakeholder needs and team efficiencies
• Leading Advisor group team meetings

You will also be responsible for effective management of aspects of the recruitment process through the Talent Shared Services and Student Recruitment operations teams, for example: candidate management system; final stage events; assessor training; post offer process; work permits; policies; continuous improvement.

Engagement with senior stakeholders is key to understand specific business needs and develop the Student Recruitment strategy. You will support the Student Recruitment Manager to hold regular meetings with business contacts to update on strategic direction; performance vs target to date and deal with any internal issues that may arise. You will work closely with the regional Brand and Attraction representatives in order to provide the business with an end to end update on Student Recruitment.

Your work will largely be undertaken remotely / virtually, although you will be required to travel as necessary within the UK to meet key contacts and build relationships with wider client serving teams, as well as attend team meetings, one to ones and deliver or support final stage events, as well as campus, schools and office events.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Proven ability to work autonomously and to high standards, able to take the lead on assigned projects using knowledge to achieve quality results
• Experience of leading and motivating others with an emphasis on coaching and counselling
• Significant recruitment experience, skills and knowledge (ideally student recruitment) and able to manage high volume candidate pipelines
• Thrive on working to high standards by exceeding targets and KPI’s in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to focus on continuous improvement and innovation

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Confident excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs etc.)
• Knowledge of core assessment and selection tools
• An awareness of the latest employment legislation and key issues surrounding immigration
