EY Finance Operations is a fast growing, managed service team within EY providing book keeping, management accounts, corporate tax, VAT and statutory accounting functions for a wide range of clients.

The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the EY Finance Operations team to work with us to develop and deliver training to our team across a full range of accounting and bookkeeping topics in both a face to face and online environment.

We are looking for qualified accountants who are thinking of making the move into teaching or have previous experience of training. In addition to your experience, you will make a crucial difference to our team through leading and contributing to the development of a core curriculum and sharing your expertise across a range of courses.

The role is UK based and you will collaborate with and deliver training to a team who work from a number of UK and wider global locations.

Location for this role is Belfast.

There will be some travel within the UK.

Your key responsibilities

• As the Accounting Training Leader you will be a subject matter expert in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Contribute to and take a lead on the development and roll out of a curriculum and training materials, including training on new developments in accounting standards.
• Develop a curriculum that addresses the training needs of a variety of levels pf experience from those new to accounting who are working towards a professional qualification to qualified accountants requiring professional development.
• Work to develop in depth knowledge of the core technology platforms we use to deliver services to our clients (core technology being Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sharepoint, Caseware) in order to be able to collaborate with technology subject matter experts on the development and delivery of training on the practical elements of bookkeeping and accounting.
• Developing a rapport and building positive relationships with other key stakeholders across the EY network in particular build links with the EY Talent and Training Team.
• Contributing to the development of team members through on-going coaching and guidance.
• Taking advantage of the development opportunities available to maintain and develop your own skills and experience.
• You will also carry out other duties within the broad scope and spirit of your role. Our business continuously evolves, so your role will too.

Skills and attributes for success
We are looking for individuals who are qualified in ACCA, or ACA qualified accountant with ideally 2 -5 years post qualification experience in industry or professional services. Previous experience of delivery of training would be an advantage.

To qualify for the role you must have

Knowledge and / or experience of the areas below which will support your responsibilities:

• Finance function and accounting operations and management accounting experience
• Management reporting
• Statutory reporting
• Knowledge of VAT preferable
• Detailed knowledge of finance function processes (RTR, PTP, OTC)
• Knowledge of finance function core systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
